Zhao Yiqian

An Artist who combines the spirit of classicism with the icons of contemporary society and thus brought about a new form of minimalist painting with his novel concept.

Zhao was born in China in 1982. He graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2006. His work has been featured in solo exhibitions around China and in London since 2011. His work has been featured in group exhibitions since 2007 in international galleries and museums such as Foundation Taylor (Paris), Multimedia Art Museum (Moscow, Russia), Hakgojae Gallery (Seoul), Asia Art Center (Taipei, Taiwan), CCRN (Luxembourg), and Manheim Kunstverein (Mannheim, Germany), amongst many others.

Zhao was interested in classics and humanities since his youth. He especially attempted to secure the purity of painting by neo-classically reinterpreting the resurrection of classicism during the Renaissance, the rediscovery of nature, and the expression of individual creativity based on his own experiences and research on post-humanism.
